As a Local Church, the Archdiocese of Indianapolis engages in many ministries and provides diverse programs and services that are designed to meet the spiritual, educational, social, and temporal needs of God’s people. Its ministries are delivered through 126 parishes, 68 schools, and five Catholic Charity agencies across 38 counties in central and southern Indiana. Its administrative offices, including the Secretariat for Communications, are located at 1400 N. Meridian Street in downtown Indianapolis. Among its communication mediums is The Criterion, the weekly award-winning official newspaper of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, established in 1960 and distributed in all 38 counties in central and southern Indiana.
